Welcome to Bangorang! This website has served me well over the years, but is now being converted as well as I. I'm venturing out into the world of art, like I have always dreamed of doing. As well, this site will be an online testimonial to my triumphs, that I hope I have plenty of, and my pitfalls so those of you interested enough to browse and read will learn from. I will also be posting stories and concerns that move me to speak, so be forewarned now. Some of the content on this website deals with contriversial subjects and the human form, nudity, but only as an art form. I hope everyone who comes here sees the beauty I see when I try to create art from something that has inspired me. Everyday I see things around me that move me inside and make me urn to express myself and hopefully I will succeed when you view my art. If you have any questions about my art or feedback please feel free to contact me through my website and I will respond as soon as I can. Thank you for surfing Bangorang and I hope to hear from you soon. |
| Kern Arts Counsil has put together a show at the Younger Gallery in downtown Bakersfield, California. The article reads - "13 handpicked artists for unique exhibition" not sure it that was lucky or not but I got in with my sculpture in. They stated that if all goes well it will become an annual event and I think its just what kern county needs for ceramics to continue growing. - Click here to read more - |

Ceramics has become my favorite form of expressing myself artistically. I also have an infinity for painting and drawing but they have become more like tools that help me in my ceramic adventure. Two-dimensional art has become very difficult for me to express myself in, because I've become almost entirely 3-dimension-ally minded. On top of this I need to have all my senses involved and love to work in clay. Bottom line, "I love to play in the mud"! On a more serious note, it never amazes me to see how the mud takes shape with the slightest touch or gentle guidance. While working on the wheel I begin to feel almost complacent or rhythmic while creating. I imagine this satisfies my musical nature. But, it doesn't stop there, after the first stage of conception is complete you begin to apply glazes or slips which will then transform the object in a myriad of ways. Color and texture are the most prominent, but while trying to attain these aspects you can also end up changing the depth and perception of the object as well. You never know what you'll get because of all the factors involved in creating a piece of pottery. One small but very integral part of the pottery process is "heat" or the firing of a piece. It's not just the top end temp but how fast did it come to temp and how fast did it come down to ambient temp. All these factors change the outcome dramatically with only the slightest variation! |
| Finding me on the web is relatively easy. Once you know one of two things it's easy to track me down. One is my email address which is spelled out on my contact page. You can also search youtube, facebook or twitter and find a simple yet effective way to talk with me. The links for Youtube and Facebook as well as twitter are linked at the bottom of every page. Sometimes I'll even embed links to my videos so you can find them easily! |
